A de facto "standards core" in #browser engines has helped. We've achieved that via open sourced engines. NOW is the time for competition.

@jwajsberg Yes, and variants thereof. Vivaldi is based off Chrome so you do end up with a bit of legacy but the best of Blink, etc.

@jwajsberg I don't disagree with your point, but I do feel we've reached a better time with a de facto common core and can improve upon it.

@mollydotcom for example blink does not implement latest spec for flexbox, but Firefox does. Yet people file bugs that Firefox is incorrect.
