HTML5 is not markup. It is mashup. Remember DHTML? Same idea but somewhat evolved. DHTML: HTML+CSS+DOM+JS || HTML5: HTML+CSS+SET OF APIS+JS.

@mollydotcom did not come to say "no, you're wrong", but I like to see HTML5 as an extension of sorts to HTML, not to DHTML.

@ojrask I do think that html5 is a completely separate entity than any other market. It's closer to DHTML in its makeup than it is to HTML.馃槉

@mollydotcom I can see the point in talking about HTML5 as a thing quite different than HTML4 for instance.

@mollydotcom But I think that is because people took HTML5 as "the new awesome thing" to create websites, instead of treating it as markup.

@mollydotcom And I do understand that the term HTML5 makes it easy to use it as a combinator for multiple techs to describe a platform. :)
