Are there guidance counselors for adults? I don't mean life coaches or therapists. I mean someone who helps you rebuild your entire life.

@jlsmp None that I've ever met, not in 43 years of therapy. Economics?
@jlsmp I have had precious little insight from most therapists. Some have been very helpful. But that's process and emotion not pragmatics.
@obiwankimberly @nickf You are assigned a social worker by the social service(s) you're using! I don't know any "freelance" social workers.
@obiwankimberly @nickf At 51 I'm too young. I go to Social Security, they'll give me a social worker. Who is not my advocate, but the gov's.

@nickf And that keeps me looking to a future, indeed. But it still doesn't help me navigate the crazy f'd up "system"

@mollydotcom do you have adult advocates in the USA? A young person advocate helped me with exactly that a few years ago.
