When I became ill in 1985 with what has now evolved into this fulminant, deadly disorder I was diagnosed with, I shit you not, Malingering.

@mollydotcom They accused my dad of the same thing. Referred him to a psychiatrist. They were wrong.

@chriseppstein To do that should be criminal. I wish it was. Tossing a suffering human aside. It's soul-sucking and tragic and simply wrong.

@mollydotcom It is terrible. getting a diagnosis was a relief, even if the diagnosis was "terminal". at least we *knew* what was going on.

@chriseppstein And yes, there is comfort in spite of sorrow of simply knowing. I'm glad he, and your family, got that despite what happened.
