If I were ruler, I would make every student doctor sick or immobilized for several weeks with what their patients will be managing.

@RiverC @mollydotcom funeral ins isn't really for sudden death, it's so your kids/whoever don't end up paying the cost.
@RiverC @mollydotcom So it would technically be "assurance" not "insurance" but in the US people don't differentiate, UK they do.
@RiverC @mollydotcom So you pay your funeral permiums while young/healthy/working and it's paid when you're older and die. Usually.
@RiverC @mollydotcom If you choose to buy funeral insurance, you tend to keep it, but many payment plans and some ppl do cash out early.
@RiverC @mollydotcom it's got as many options as life insurance, from one large payment/no premiums, to limited time, to invested.
@RiverC @mollydotcom (I am assuming much is the same between NL & US, but I worked 4 a Dutch insurance company <-- where my info comes from)
@RiverC @mollydotcom Probably also same in US, that funeral insurance is less popular among younger generations.
@RiverC @mollydotcom Yeah it's a stand-alone thing like life insurance or car insurance. Though they may still use the same Life tables.

@RiverC @mollydotcom cool, wish I could do that. So instead over here we'll just cremate. Would rather people partied when I die.

Replying to @mholzschlag
@mollydotcom Totally agree. A lot of hospital workers give the impression of not giving a shit.
