HIPPA (US rules for medical privacy) has rejected email and electronic docs for info exchange. Recommendation? FAX. Waddya think 'bout that?

@Gargy You're way ahead of compliance (cool!) HITECH won't be enforceable until the 23d of this month, and I don't think it'll be pretty.

@mollydotcom yeah we've been pushing electronic for years - faxless option for docs since '02. But some are "technically challenged"

@mollydotcom Fax is a big problem coz out-of-paper/jam/machine off causes back-ups on our side. Plus privacy issue of a bin full of med info
