Poll: As a Web designer, do you feel you should learn code? As a developer, do you feel you should understand UX/design/interaction design?

@mollydotcom I'd not expect a designer to be an expert programmer, but since code and design are so tightly coupled i'd expect something

@mollydotcom As a developer, you should have a solid understanding of interface design. As a designer, you should know the limits of tech.

@mollydotcom Not knowing isn't going to make you a bad designer/developer, but knowing will definitely make you even better.

@mollydotcom As both I know devs need to know the design and designers how it all works and how the design is implemented.

@mollydotcom clearly people get by not knowing the other side, but a well rounded professional should be able to do both at some level.

@mollydotcom Web designers should know HTML/CSS. Back-end devs don’t need UX as anything client-facing should be designed by a designer :)
