To be a good public speaker, subject matter expert and serve your community is a privilege, not a right. Meritocracy matters above all else.

I disagree. We do run on a system of merit in our industry, and that is a meritocracy. What else would describe it so well? @janl

Also, all I am saying is “worth a read”, can’t disagree with that.

@janl I did read it. And it was full of vitriol. Fine for a blog post. But not as a defense for redefining a much-used word :)
