To be a good public speaker, subject matter expert and serve your community is a privilege, not a right. Meritocracy matters above all else.

I disagree. We do run on a system of merit in our industry, and that is a meritocracy. What else would describe it so well? @janl

@mollydotcom Nobody on the web got to where they are without standing on the shoulders of giants (except possibly Sir Tim).
