A "black day" to me is a bad day. Jews curse "A shvartz yor" (a black year). It's not a nice curse.

@mollydotcom in the UK we had 'black Wednesday'. When interest rates rocketed & we had to pull out of european exchange rate mechanism.
@mollydotcom every now and then our media dub a day as 'black' to indicate some dreadful economic catastrophe
