I confess, I don't use

much, never have. Just did. Is it me or are its denizens mostly trolls? Seems noisy, with little signal.

some of the articles on
@reddit
are quite interesting. Also some user comments are enriched with information. Most are trolls.

It varies from subreddit to subreddit. Some are pretty professional; some are basically deliberate imitations of 4chan.

If you're only reading the default front page subreddits and not customizing your own, yes. But there are /tons/ of great subs.
