A personal thank you to everybody's interest in this time in web standards history because I'm spending my day right now revising work on a paper for exactly that. This is really helpful both as a walk down memory lane and improving the quality of the paper. I thank you so much!

Without your work, we''d still be using tables.

Oh sometimes I really miss them and think I'd like to have them back. For reals!

I used to write HTML emails for a marketing company I worked at, and it was fun writing with tables again, but what sucked was every email program rendered them differently Outlook had 4 different rendering engines depending on what version. EmailonAcid & Litmus are essential.

Oh boy do I sympathize with you I'm so glad I never had to do it but I knew plenty of people who had to do it and still have to do it today

I kinda enjoyed the HTML emails. They were challenging to write. But the tracking, grouping, etc of people made me questions my morale compass
