What do you consider the definition of the word developer to be when it is used without a specific area of development? Example "I am a developer"

I think programmer and developer seems to range from code monkeys to true CS. I prefer the term technologist. You can be an architect, philologist or artist and apply any type of technology to your field of study or profession.
