None of my layoffs went like his. Three of the layoffs were with companies that simply ran out of money. One I was told I had an appointment with an executive at a certain time. I got to be conference room, he called someone on the phone and the person on the phone let me go.

In the last instance a security guard escorted me to my desk where my belongings have been packed into boxes and escorted me out of the building. I had done nothing wrong. I was not fired, but let go with three months severance. That was the only company where I got severance.

I couldn't help that I was collateral damage a year and a half after they fired my boss. When the CTO left the company there was no one else left to protect me. I knew it was coming and should've been prepared, but I had reasons not to look for another job yet.

At one job a group but the company and brought a new COO who promptly fired for cause every single person. I fought the fired for cause and proved them to be liars, but I work in an at will state and still didn't have a job.

Six months later my Parkinson's got so bad that I could no longer type accurately and had to retire.

I'm getting there myself, voice to text is not meeting my needs, too many form factors, too many mobile apps, browser apps and it's lucky if you find an actual web site with real languages rather than duct tape and gorilla glue.

There used to be a term, "not ready for prime time". The iPhone has two methods of speech to text. The keyboard method of pressing a microphone button actually does a pretty good job of speech to text. Voice control gives you a lot more control but is lousy at speech to text.

Both methods have a lot of bugs.

Bugs have incredible rules for the most part in our ecosystem. As for software I hate it I never would have signed up for it. I'm bad at it. And usually what I'm bad at comes from lack of knowledge, lack of ability, lack of Interest but usually it's mostly because I'm bored.

I'm like the kid in the Sixth Sense who said "I see dead people". It's either a gift or curse, but I see software bugs. I was just on the phone with Apple for a little over an hour reporting yet another Voice Control bug. Am I the software bug whisper?😂
