This is a question related not to your personal knowledge rather a global failure of communication. What is the description that comes to mind of the term "palliative care" There are no mistakes here this is just gathering of what has been poorly misrepresented. Thanks ya! M

I used to think it was help in care and pain relief for people dying, when medical care could no longer help. After experience with loved ones I鈥檝e come to learn it鈥檚 much more/very different. And something we should be talking about as a partnership/component of healthcare.

Yes very good insights my dear and I also think that there's a shift in power going on that I want to kind of talk about once we get some of the interesting ideas about perspectives and past use of the language lack of clarity and marginalization of care in these fields thank you

Sorry, late to the question. To me "palliative care" means "comfort care". Taking care of a person at the end stages of their life to ensure comfort and quality, vs duration. If pain is an issue, provide relief. Loneliness, company. Etc.

Yes, that's a good description, and it is expanding to include people who are not end stage per se but may be still receiving treatment for very serious illnesses. It's a very fascinating abstraction that leaves a profit of 3 trillion in the last months of life per year here.

Thank you for the helpful tweet! On FB there are a lot of answers and it becomes quite fascinating how much difference and similarities exist with responses!
