If I were a psychiatrist, I’d be curious as to why thousands of patients were resorting to online forums because they had been harmed by my profession 🤔

I’m still yet to see an online “anti cardiology” group or “anti neurology” - maybe because those specialties are based on actual science ?

I don’t know of any other branch of medicine, that has caused as much catastrophic harm as psychiatry…and then not to listen and learn from harmed patients…rinse and repeat.

Longest lasting? A lot of medical harm from other drugs, for me: oncology, hematology, immunology brutal side effects. went away for me at least a little faster then psych meds which may never go away at all. So many meds cause such awful damage. It's rough being human isn't it?

No doubt that harm is caused by a multitude of prescribed drugs. However, the denial of harm (and support) from prescribed psychotropics & ECT is prolific in psychiatry. Personally, the harm I have endured is difficult to accept because I was never given informed consent.

I do hear that I think everybody has a different experience and I know that one of the immunotherapies I was on was brutally damaging in a psychiatric way meaning they gave me psychiatric medicines as a result. Here it's about profit and predation in a capitalist country.

These prescribing cascades are so dangerous. Demonstrates limited critical thinking by prescribers. I’m hoping your symptoms were correctly diagnosed, as an effect of the immunotherapy and not a psychiatric disorder.

Personally I'm in a much better place I'm in the fourth plus week or so month of a very slow benzo taper found a very good doctor of nurse practice who manages treatment and I wouldn't see her because she does prescribe ssris but she really does a good job with the taper.

I mean I wouldn't see her for other problems I don't want to medicate anymore I'm fine when I'm not on medication except for the benzos when they bring me down another notch and then at this point I'm starting to have symptoms but it has been far more comfortable than I expected.

Glad you have support. Please go slow on the benzo taper. I had to inform my Dr of what I had learnt online and from the Ashton Manual. Swapped from clonazepam to diazepam liquid to facilitate taper.
