Interesting. Two counter-rotating turbines on a vertical axis. Large size β†’ slow rotation β†’ safer for wildlife. Vertical blades which sea birds perceive as natural obstacles and avoid. Linked page is in English.
Opptil 400 meter hΓΈye havvindturbiner som produserer opptil 40 mw. Bedre for dyrelivet fordi bladene beveger seg saktere. Fullskala modell i drift fra 2029. Ny norsk bedrift. worldwidewind.no/

It's obviously just a home page promoting the company, but interesting nevertheless. I'd have liked to hear my father's thoughts on it (mechanical engineer who sometimes involved himself in the electrical engineering aspects too).

Most likely. He explained involute gears to me when I was 8, for example. (They have teeth whose shape means they roll against each other rather than slide, and he explained the shape in terms of a piece of string with a knot in.)
