Facebook and Twitter soon obsolete? Unlikely.Blockchain is not replacing the web. What's more it isn't the first distributed option for social media which can be found on onion and has been there for longer with very little adoption. What do you think? cointelegraph.com/news/faceb…

Yeah, I'm not sure how what's being described here is different from systems like Mastodon. The underlying tech might be different, but grassroots social networks have been here for a while. They're refreshing alternatives to FB/Twitter/etc—sometimes—but haven't replaced them.

It really does feel like a rock-vs-hard-place thing. Facebook and Twitter have richly earned their reputations as hives of scum and villainy, but when I read that "no more evicting unruly users" line, I'll admit that the first users I thought of were violent extremists.

I stay for friends and communication not the social media platform much less one for profiteering off the backs of innocence and facilitating hatred and the noise of a world gone mad and stuck in this binary bullshit vitriolic Loop without an escape.
