There aren't many physics concepts I feel like people *must* know but one I wish I could tell everyone and get them to really think about is that EVERYTHING YOU SEE IS IN THE PAST. Not just stars, not just galaxies, but everything. Changes your whole perspective!
Hold your hand up 12 inches from your face: you’re seeing your hand as it was a nanosecond ago. Everything you look at is, to one degree or another, in the past. The farther away in space, the more ancient in time.

Super cool to read this just now as I was thinking about how the saying `be here now` is not possible. by the time it comes out of our mouths 'now" is no longer now! Are we ever truly in the moment I think it's many other dimensions even. Yes I'm very geeky to say that LOL
