I have written every single line of both my books and my code (regardless of the language) in dark text on a light background, usually Solarized Light. I’ll never give in to the Dark Side!

I almost always write with black text on a white background; I can't actually think of a major work of mine that wasn't.

I wrote the first edition of Adaptive Web Design as Markdown in the Whiteboards feature of Basecamp Classic, dark on light. I wrote the second edition in iA Writer, also as Markdown, light on dark. Whatever works…

Get ready boys to be one-upped! LOL. My first book was written on an electric typewriter. So was my second. Third by hand on a legal pad. Of course the web had not yet been invented! And the topics weren't technical but creative Still counts sez me though 😜
