A web of applications especially ones that are downloaded separately to your local machine and outside of a browser or inside own user agent is not a web app it's not even the web. I honestly will never figure out why interaction is more important than actual content for the web.

Content rules! But I guess that a fear of unavailability of continious network access in wide parts supports ideas of offline capable architectures… well… and the possibility to wrench money out of another silo.
