So now they’re going to blame watching TV for diabetes…? SMH
Just a night or two of exposure to faint artificial light, like a TV, is enough to raise your pulse and increase insulin resistance — factors that raise the risk of heart disease and diabetes, researchers find. n.pr/3DDePRm

Everybody wants to blame something. Usually one thing. Correlation is not causation. And causation is usually more than one thing along with things we don't know yet. It's pure cognitive bias. And if we study and know it our biases are we can change them if we want to.

This one really drives me nuts because screens have just been part of life for like 70 years and people have been looking for reasons to stigmatize them.

People will always stigmatize something. We have separated the human into mind and body which is a falsehood. How is mental Health separate from physical health? This is a very dangerous idea for many reasons and the stigma causes suffering 2 people already suffering.

So important to undo that mind-body separation stuff.

We have to it was a huge mistake the mind-body problem is a man-made construct there is no problem we are whole beings. If something is thought to be mental doctors stop looking. Recently when they treated hepatic encephalopathy my cognition improved and depression went away.

Absolutely. It was recommended for about 30 years that I get a treatment for stress. Turns out I was having unusual type of migraines that resemble seizures.

Exactly. Look at the harm and stigma that comes with that you don't get treated and people will tell you to just deal with it. Stress itself is deadly! Long term stress injures us and is the cause of many major problems which can and often does lead to death. We know so little.

It is true. Without the medication that I needed I suffered from cognitive impairment that had an impact on my academic performance. Finished undergrad with a 2.6 GPA. Did my graduate work with proper treatment and had a 3.95 GPA. So much difference!

Again we definitely agree strongly that we must get around this split it's false and it harms. I also don't think general medicine is very weak. They don't teach differential diagnosis and they don't advocate for patients. Nowadays most MD's don't do manual exams. They miss a lot
