This. People rarely internalize how far the nearest habitable planets are, and how inefficient it would be for an alien race to spread out over those distances.

Yes, but you say this with no knowledge of alien technology. They could be millions of years more advanced than us and have other means to cross space.

Sure its all conjectures anyways. But my prior is that no practical version of such space-crossing travel is possible. The fact that we have not seen aliens is a bit of a proof point for this

That there is no other intelligent life elsewhere as we understand it is highly improbable. Greater intelligence would also almost surely not be Little Green Men or have human features. We may lack the sensory and cognitive abilities to perceive other intelligent forms of life.

There's a very unique intelligence in ants and bees and colonized species across the boards tend to have group intelligence. So fascinating!
