How many coders, devs, programmmers, IT peeps, technical design folks are also musicians and/or seriously in pursuit of music lifelong? Curious to know as for more than 30 years in tech I see a lot of crossover.

I played in a symphony orchestra at age 14... and was a music editor on several feature films... But less lately, too busy with vision projects—My "birthday present" to myself in 2019 was an 88 key weighted-action Yamaha piano/controller.. and I have yet to open the road case!

I've been looking into 88 key simple boards don't need many voices but a strong piano sound. Effects are less important than sound quality. Always interested in recommendations. Do you play it or does it stay in its case? I have two guitars cased one at the ready the rest stored.

I like Yamaha, the build quality is superior to Roland and Korg IMO. Yamaha does make real pianos too, that mindset seems to continue to the digital variety. Kurzweil are also great in feel and sound, but I have heard they lack in build quality and reliability.

As for playing: it's been in the case since I bought it! 😢 I promised myself to get back to it to flesh out these ideas for an ambient album as soon as I was done with the APCA project, but that's expanded in scope & will continue to absorb my time for the foreseeable future...

That's exactly the mindset I had I kept saying I'll get to it when I'm done with this project or the next the more years went by. You can always send it to me! I'll use it LOL. Suggestion? I would take it out of the case. Take a break from one come back fresh to the other.

Yea, it's right there at the foot of my bed, even have the MacPro and protools set up, and the 31" monitor on a stand... that... I have also never turned on since I bought it... 😳 Seriously, shortly after I bought these and started the setup, I stumbled into WCAG 2 math...++

Back away from the spec! Take a breath. The work will still be there tomorrow. And if you're just going to let that Yamaha and Pro Tools and monitor and MacBook go to waste? Ship it on over. I'll use it while you focus on WCAG. If you don't take a break a break might take you.
