How many coders, devs, programmmers, IT peeps, technical design folks are also musicians and/or seriously in pursuit of music lifelong? Curious to know as for more than 30 years in tech I see a lot of crossover.

WOW. I am actually leaving my career as a developer to pursue music, in addition to deeply delving back into drawing and painting. I have finally answered the call of the electric guitar, and am highly enjoying it. I'm aligned with a good number of pro musicians as well.

Seriously? How cool. And electric guitar no less? What factors do you think prompted this decision at this point in your life and career? I'm sure this is something you hear but indulge my OCD as I I must simply say it: Play Misty For Me? I apologize but I had to get it out LOL.

The passion I had for dev was just going out. I had also become weary of related work environments. The creative aspect of myself was being stifled. I decided it would be a good idea to follow my heart, and so far, I am happier. By the way, my name’s inspired by “Misty Blue” 😉

I love that you play electric guitar. I get being burnt out and I also completely relate to the work environment issue. Fortunately I can keep it selective in my old age regarding web. Which genres do you prefer? I'm very excited for you and eagerly await hearing your music!

I highly enjoy the sounds of harder rock of the ‘90s—especially of those associated with grunge, thrash metal, and punk. Funk musicians of the ‘70s are also an influence, as well as the stylings of Prince. I’m continuing to study, learn, and develop finger calluses. 😄

For the grunge I'm Alice in Chains all the way Layne Staley lives in my heart forever. Broken beautiful boys every damned one. I think Eddie Vedder is very close to being the only grunge super power still alive.

Right! I miss Layne Staley’s unique voice, as well as Chris Cornell’s. I’m the biggest Soundgarden fan out of the music fans I know in real life. That is something I miss hearing largely in rock—distinctive voices and/or sounds that I can really FEEL.

Oh yeah Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell nailed that as did Chris Cornell who I also loved madly. But Staley was especially gifted vocally. a lot of great vocals in Grunge music all told Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell together was another epic meeting of voices.
