How many coders, devs, programmmers, IT peeps, technical design folks are also musicians and/or seriously in pursuit of music lifelong? Curious to know as for more than 30 years in tech I see a lot of crossover.

What a delicious mix! All puns intended. My dad played Clarinet and French horn. In 5th grade I wanted to play the trumpet and the school refused because I was a girl. Early 70s New Jersey. parents pitched a fit got nowhere pulled me out but way to kill a child's motivation.

It is really sad that in the 70s certain things still happened. It's a real shame, because I believe that in a perfect world, musical studies should be central in the education of children. Anyway, I have students older than you who started from 0!for sure it's never too late! 馃槈

Older than me? Low probability unless you teach people who are 60 years old or older. Greybeards, or in my case one annoying witchy chin hair that grows back longer and whiter every time I pluck it out 馃槢

Good for him! Lifelong learning is awesome. at 72 I expect to be studying and working as I'm doing right now but with different equipment and hopefully voice input output that actually works and doesn't make me sound illiterate. It's kind of important for a writer. 馃槈
