Coming from private sector I expected more inclusive, accessible, & equitable design expertise in the public sector. Instead, I found more concern for shipping quantity > quality. With rare exceptions. Most know nothing of Section 508, but it鈥檚 the law, not just public-facing!

I had the opposite experience. Working for Department of energy and other federal agencies long before good practices were being adopted by anybody dot-dot. they were a joy and most of my federal and state agency clients were among my favorites because of that.

I think the reason things are worse now is because of the dot dot boom sending saviors to #civicTech. People from ad / digital agencies or tech companies aren鈥檛 used to serving the full spectrum of human reality.

That may well be a factor, not my area as I rarely worked with agencies except when hiring then for design work for clients as I am no designer :)
