I can't have direct blood donations, bone marrow problems forbade stockpilubg my own, if you are medically able without restrictions donations of money, blood or platelets to the Red Cross. Pooled blood helps many. I especially need platelets but donation can be hard on donors xo

I donate 3 units of platelets every two weeks. If anyone can donate, please do.

On behalf of all the people who have need of them I say thank you. I may even have some of your platelets in me LOL. Many donors say it's rough on them. Would you be able to explain that better if you know. What inspired you to choose platelet donations over whole blood or plasma

I've never had any negative experiences donating. Needles don't phase me (I got REAL used to them with many contest-enhanced MRIs over the years). I can’t believe that I get to do such good for people by sitting in a chair and basically vegging out.

That's interesting I've heard a lot of people have at least one day of extreme fatigue depression and nausea symptoms after platelets along with muscle aches a flu like reaction which makes sense. Some people are pre-treated with Benadryl to avoid this. Thank you so much again!

I tell you, it feels like cheating: I do practically nothing, and everybody thinks it’s a big deal. I’m lucky that my body takes to it so well. Also, I may say that I do it in memory of Kevin, but that’s not entirely true: I would do it anyway.

For all the reasons you do it that you do it at all is in fact a gift of life. Platelets especially are difficult because a transfusion only lasts tops three days or so in a recipient and you can't have too many of them they really do not like transfusing people very much anymore
