I recall seeing a recent meme where people were talking about people who had a big impact on their career on the web. I can't find the meme now so I'm not sure if I'm doing this right, but I wanted to talk about @mholzschlag and how big of an impact she had on my career.

Molly's impact on the web is unquestionable, but I feel like the things she taught me were bigger than the web.
The first time I talked to her was at WebVisions as an attendee. She was a rockstar to me. But she treated me like an equal and made me feel I belonged. 鉂わ笍

A few years later in 2009, we met again at Web 2.0. I鈥檓 not sure if Molly knew who I was or not, but she included me in a dinner with a bunch of Microsoft folks from the IE team. I heard stories from the WASP days. It felt like rarefied company I was in.
Had a wonderful evening hanging out with @mollydotcom and some great folks from the IE and Mobile IE teams. Great end to the day. #w2e

I remember hearing how @mholzschlag challenged Bill Gates in a meeting. I couldn't believe talking to people who shaped the web, who knew famous people, and who had the nerve to challenge them.
And they didn't seem that different from me. 鉂わ笍

These were the meetings that got Microsoft back into web standards. So yes. You have @mholzschlag and the rest of the web standards project to thank for making it happen.
Beyond that, it鈥檚 not my story to tell.

You are such a kind and loving friend. I'd forgotten in the disenfranchisement of the darkest days in not just my life and losses of help work house husband mother and Friends but political upheaval and the devastation of covid. But I see love here and it inspires me thank you
