How do folks shake off overwhelming grief and loss? It seems like people do it a lot better than I can, a lot fast than I have, and I want to know how. I am truly tired of being haunted.

I don't think they do. Maybe some of it heals until it's possible to focus on the good memories without them hurting, but it takes however long your brain needs, I think.

I honestly don't know, but I'd love to follow for any clarity others might have. I am with you in grief and loss, even if for different people and other things.

Nobody shakes it off. They periodically distract themselves and hope that the intensity lessens. It does get slightly less intense over time but it never goes away. Getting support from others who have been through it also helps to make things bearable. Nobody shakes it off.

I can only say, your journey is yours alone. Find what helps and do it in your own way. For me what helps is thinking that living the best life I can and helping others somehow honours the lives of those who are no longer here. Sending hugs 馃

Oh, honey. Grief is different for everyone. And it takes as long as it takes before a person starts to live again. My heart goes out to you. I hope their memory can be a blessing to you. 鉂わ笍鉂わ笍鉂わ笍鉂わ笍

That's exactly my experience. I'll have moments of okay-ness, and bam! Some thought or ache or memory just overwhelms me.
