Been thinking about the purposeful choice to deprecate .onion short addresses with no backward compatibility. At the end of this month, all those addresses simply go away. It's a very intelligent move for .onion but of course goes against the Open Web's principles. Thoughts?

Successful portability of such a large project is uncommon in my experience I'd like hear more at least in the abstract if not the actual project itself. Was it the tools themselves or was it a combination of tool sets and project leads and team being well selected 4 the project?

The project involved government contract data, the use of an ORM made it possible, along with a team dedicated to the idea.
