I struggle with morale related to the Web's wavering between social ideals of Open and Net Worth predation. It freezes me in my work as an advocate of Open. I become dissolusioned. #NFTs #A11y failures, behavior I don't understand. What do you think? Are we here to help or hurt?

The web—rooted in the ideals from 90s—and capitalism are two creatures that interact. I believe we can still continue following the ideas of openness, sharing, commons, accessibility etc. even though the backdrop is dire. Technologies do not establish “us”; shared ideas do.

And governments and Nations and laws get in the way sometimes because a website is not a theoretical. An application in use is not just did a application and use its human beings and machines communicating dictated by the laws of culture community and Nation.

Holding two contradictory ideas in tandem is the mark of advanced cognition. As long as there is a top and a bottom, there will be those who lunge for the top, those flee from the bottom, and a rare few who strive to stabilize all together. Follow your polestar, and lead.

Higher order thinking and cognitive dissonance may be one thing but bring that into the real world and allow it to shade the way a nation or an industry works is not higher order thinking it is in fact action fully colored by bias and stupid human tricks called heuristics.

My own moral worldview says that we are here to help and not hurt. I find joy when people become more competent in their abilities and when they succeed. Though that hasn’t happened in along time since because of Parkinson’s I had to stop programming in 2015.

I might be simplifying too much: I always think that if there is a good worth pursuing, and the web offers so much good, it's also worth investing in education for people to learn to use it wisely. Will this remove predators? No, it could possibly reduce the no. of victims though
