Vinay is asking the question I have asked for a very long time. But I asked yesterday in relation to ableism how we remove the destructive and retain the productive? For me, the answer comes back to Cultural Influence. Language, food, dress, music, beliefs - culture is colorful!

Celebrating positive creativity is always good, as long as it is accompanied by appropriate education that defuses the misperceptions with which it may be received and therefore weaponised. This lovely programme is the positive side: channel4.com/programmes/the-…

The UK’s problem is that a huge minority think that actively deprogramming legacy Empire trains of thought is being ‘woke’, rather than seeing it as a sensible minimum investment in a kinder next generation.

I was sort of hoping the next generation would be avenging valkyries like Greta Thunburg. Kinder is just going to let the demons who rule this world continue to spit out CO2 and nuclear weapons.

I agree philosophically and am usually very friendly as most people who meet me know. Three things trigger my mean: Imposition of what I should be/believe, refusal to believe a personal truth and physical abuse. Emotional abuse I've learned to take but now I will walk away.

Abuse would include warmongering and genocide of course in my philosophy but fierce and non-violent words can be a form of salvation.

Sorry if I struck the wrong tone. My dad cursed with abandon. It’s a habit I acquired. When it comes to climate I’m horrified at our inaction and what that means for my kids, and I’m particularly prone to reaching for expletives to express my anguish

What the fuck you talking about with the cursing and shit? C'mon, Jersey Girl. When relaxed I can turn sailors blue. Truth! I agree with the climate issue as I sit in Tucson, #3 warmest city in USA this year, ahead of Phoenix I read. They're #4 on the list I saw.

I misunderstand myself so there you have it. ;-) Some want conflict. I enjoy intellectual debate, not conflict fights, but I get caught in it sometimes. Learning to walk away is a huge life lesson and I do it better but gosh it took me a long time desiring help only to be harmed.

I don’t deal with conflict well either. We all must do what we can to protect ourselves

I deal with it from experience not only in family but in my poor people choices. I can read individuals and groups with high accuracy but by wanting so desperately to see good in humans, I have "lie/harm" blindness: when I know lies and harm are real, I blame myself. WTF is that?
