Why do people have a problem with this? It allows for visual correct with correct semantics. This imo is necessary code.

I don't like it, but my bones are old. You kids today! Just don't obfuscate or rely on only tools and frameworks. Know yer code as best you can. There, that's what I can help with. I don't know about necessary when not in context, but stop me before I go down that rabbit hole :)

My general thought was that your type should be on a scale and representing that scale as heading-1 -> whatever in class names was ok.

That's what I'm saying too. We're on the same page. I'm pro <h1> -> <h6> for their correct semantic usage.
