It can be hurtful especially when it's your idea and original. I remember when other people began taking words verbatim out of my mouth who were higher up the corporate chain and never gave me credit. I couldn't stay in those environments.
Acknowledgement is good and I like to aim for it but I often fail to I think most people are fairly okay with that in social media but when it comes to the workplace that may be a different story.
