Civilian implies that he is going to act civil. I don't think he will ever be able to do that again in his life it's pretty much downhill for most of us after a certain age adding that level of stress and eating himself morbidly obese with no exercise is not a recipe for success.
But he will persist as long as he has a focus and sees a possible result. I just don't understand the Loyalty factor to a man who can give those people nothing they're the ones he needs and they come calling? That suggest there's some value in the exchange but what? Or who?

It's like a cult of zombies they just raise their hands and groan and moan nothing of relevance and follow him none the less. Well he'll lead them all off a cliff one day if given the chance. I wonder if people don't do that just to be seen themselves
