A friend used the word #DoomScrolling yesterday, which I had never heard (might have seen the tag pass by). He said he was up to about 7 hours per day. Since 1993 I have never browsed or scrolled around. I do follow links for more info and use search but I'm directed. May be age?

They talking about the sites that are using infinite scroll which breaks the ability to use the bottom of the site?

No, but I parsed it another way! I thought it had to do with gaming because: Doom. It's just extensive browsing or scrolling around your phone with no intent or interaction in search of a way to trance out boredom. Doesn't seem very healthy to me.

That is not age (I'm probably older than you). It's self discipline.

I cannot imagine it's good for anyone's health much less moods especially when in a medical, pollitical and human crash course with whatever happens now. And now. And next. Exhausting!
