On this day in 2017 my mother passed away to a near-simultaneous chorus of automatic weapons and screams in Las Vegas, NV. And then, the deadly silence that ensued. In a lifetime of trauma, abuse and violence, there was no greater horror in one day's time for all those souls. ☮️

while I'm still troubled at the mysterious destruction of people's lives, a voice in my head is also relieved it was perpetrated by some generic white guy. I shudder at the thought of some racist scumbag using this story to ferment more race hatred in this already lost country.

Yeah, I get that. Unfortunately too well and without any sense of relief at all.

Wait? What? Your mother was a victim of that tragedy?

No she died of other causes in a hospital very close to the MGM Grand and I've lived off of the Las Vegas Strip at that time so it was a near simultaneous event not the same event. All tragedy if you ask me. But thank you for asking for clarification it does matter.

I think of you nearly daily, and wish the energy I’m sending had a bigger, tangible impact. 💛

All friendship that is true to my heart does thank you so much. I know your path has not been easy either. I know you will agree it is time to stop feeding monsters. It's time to stand up to them until they are no more. Peace upon you my dear always, Forever.❤️
