Iād like to confess that for quite some time I thought āYosemiteā was pronounced āyo-sem-iteā because Iād only ever read the word, never heard it.
(And for at least a little while, when I heard people say āYosemiteā properly, I didnāt make the connection between the two.)

For readers this is not uncommon I find. Personally I thought the Idiocracy was hilarious and all I could think of was walking into a room full of the hood homies hearing "yo yo Semite sup up wichu you girly girl?
For social reasons I worried it would be rude to share widely.š
