The other day a friend liked a post asking if I could have a blue facemask instead of a Blue Beanie for Web Standards.
My post was from 2014.

Scarily so at times. My Mom had an expression "Don't give it a canary" as in don't jinx it (unsure origin but "Canary in a coal mine" seems likely).
I suspect I'm part canary :)

Ah, Yiddish origin :) "Keinehora" - frequently used. My parents spoke Yiddish especially when around us kids but we figured it out, as kids always do!

Such superstitions of old both in the Sephardic and Ashkenazic sides of my grandparents, all immigrants pre WWWII (possibly why all names spelled right, less people at Ellis Island). Atheist parents but the sayings and rituals remain. Mom taught me and said it bested hers, yikes!
