I applied a couple of times back when you could apply and was turned down. Seems arbitrary, listed all my books and so on, but not notable enough. However there were plenty of dudes with 2k followers and no obvious reason with a tick.

Is it gender bias? Cuz there's entire populations not there due to physical difference. With me I got heavier before chemo - fat shaming? Ableism? Age? YOU, like @dori @shelleypowers are primary in our gen's women dev leaders. Recognition is part of meritocracy. Web site time?

so I'm on a Journalism MA at the moment and I had wondered about doing this very thing for my dissertation project. I'd love to create a site telling these stories. I know so many folk get missed out of the accounts, and there will be more I don't know of.

I was thinking of the people who didn't get the credit for their contributions, whose impact might be otherwise forgotten. A lot of those will of course be women.

I think a lot of us were just trying to do the right thing, to write and teach, not build our profiles. It took me a long time to realise I had to do that part as well if I wanted to be able to survive as an independent in the industry.

I've been seeing more articles (by some men) based on your work, mine, and other women's work and none of those articles reference any of our work at all. It's almost like crediting others will destroy the know-it-all profiles they're trying to build.
