Just remembered being part of a job search in 2002, where we posted an opening (with reasonable requirements!) and one of the candidates submitted a resumé that claimed 15 years of experience with HTML and CSS. Reader, we did not hire that candidate.

HTML's been around since at least the 1995 era. When did CSS come about? Yeah, 15 years before 2002 would be kinda difficult. (BTW, if you ask about me, I've been slinging code for ... gark!! ... 52 years!!)

1993 Web, basic HTML by then. 1994 CSS via @wiumlie who has shared earlier proposals. 1994 also saw @w3c and the rest is messy history. My first CSS rule ever was for MSN (ie 3.0 beta): h1 {font-size: 14pt; font-family: "Times New Roman"; color: red} hahaha...
