My career has been blessed with anecdotes and strange encounters. I should share more of the funny ones. I don't know if I was liked, tolerated or so fearless and odd myself but I was fortunate as an outspoken woman. A few rare exceptions - Jakob Nielsen tops my not funny list.

So true Faruk! And imagine my first exposure was a session in 1999 in Pasadena when he and Jared Spool went face to face on UX. I'd never met either prior so that was a bit of strange alright!

It wasn't pleasant or balanced. Weird and uncomfortable for everyone. I purposely avoided Jakob for all my days. But Jared was hugely influential in my life. He was the one to suggest @meyerweb and I co-present which we did for several years beyond UIE.
