I've never been a fan of Musk, but most tech leaders are "eccentric". IIRC the guy from Boreland (the IDE company, remember them?) fashioned himself a rock star and sank a bunch of money into a CD that he foisted on his employees at a company party.

True dat. How about John Mcafee if you want a nutter with extra butter!

He is no doubt a genius with very interesting politics but his arrogance nearly got him very dead. He was not very wise to mess with crazy violent countries. I don't want to live on a compound with armed guards. I already kind of do. Little Waco down here.

No compounds in my neighborhood, but I abandoned Nextdoor because I really don't want to hang out with some of my neighbors, even virtually. I haven't given up my guns though. :D

Me either. Not mine, nor my husband's service weapon and certain things he brought back from Vietnam. Before he succumbed to his long slow growing Agent Orange related tumors and became paralyzed he was teaching me knife and swordsmanship. Katana. Sheathed for him. Me, just wood.

Hopefully we'll avoid the zombie apocalypse and you won't need those skills...but given the administration's response so far, my expectations are not very high.

Yeah. I live in Arizona. The ugliness is alive and well today alright.

I saw that AZ and wasn't sure. Whereabouts?

Yeah, it's not like it was...I can't drive up to the Patio for a steak and dancing, but some things are better.

I never hung out much there - some work related and social adventures in the metro area. Also, there's the ol' rivalry between our cities. Sports for one!
