The #Web industries (#webdev #webdesign #a11y #ux #ui #content #makers etc) have long been prejudiced in re diversity. NOW? It is The Elders. Very skilled, fine folks around 50 in these fields are encountering agism as a defeating force. To silence experience? Now that's stupid.

It's bad and getting worse. I was in a meeting with a VP of engineering and he openly said he doesn't hire "experienced" engineers.

It would have been easier if he were an a-hole, but he was otherwise a nice guy who *really* believed younger engineers were better because they weren't afraid to do things older engineers said "no" to.
