TIL that a guy on whom I had a crush in high school has a husband. I've no idea how long he's been out; hadn't heard news of him in decades. Thought #1: Good for him! He was a heck of a nice guy. Thought #2: NO WONDER he spurned my advances! I feel better for sad 15-year-old me.

OMG that just happened to ME? Do we ever grow up? Please say "NO!" ;-) It took 30 years and Social Media for my high school crushes to admit it. It's a sweetly bitter moment alrighty. Ha!

For all I know he's been out for 30 years. He's one of the high school buddies that was never mentioned in, "Oh did you hear about?" conversations.

It was the shy, quiet enduring one that snagged me after a stubborn 30 some odd years, so I'm not surprised. I suppose it fits that "good guys finish last" b.s. I personally was way to interested in everything naughty :D

It isn't even about the "out" - it's how vulnerable we can be at that age. We sometimes don't know yet our gender identities as that's when they are really coming out of us, as it were.
