Oh Honey- the 80’s were pretty wild for me. 64 now

58 here... Those were the days, my friend. We thought they'd never end. But they did, and now we're getting old. We lived the life we chose, punched it right in the nose. For we were young, but now we're getting old. (And of course, still trying to have our way) la la la la la

I was selected to a do a speaker training last year. Thought I'd do well since I've done a lot of speaking. After the first time I was videoed, the coach said, "You're like a fine wine. But you make us guzzle. Slow down so we can sip." Freakin' loved that analogy! 😂🤣🥂

Love the analogy; any tips though? How do you cut to allow them to sip instead of guzzle? I have to start with the time limit in mind.

Probably we start by not cramming so damned much into a single talk. 😂 But he taught us to stop walking constantly. Face someone, talk right to them. Then turn your body slightly & talk to another person. Walking is done, but far less. And of course, slow, clear & loud speech.

I was approached to give a 50 minute preso about JS. A week before the conference I finalized details like how the pppt would be run and found out the show runner cut my time to 30 minutes. It was a bit of a scramble and I'm sure some were guzzling not sipping. :/

I do not judge other people's ways of coping for mine have been ridiculously off-the-charts and well-documented. Your talks are probably brilliant and your heart forever filled and that is what matters in my small world.

:) Your words are kind, even if inaccurate. I'm not sure anyone has ever described my work as "brilliant", but I much appreciate the compliment.
