Fred Christ Trump used to yell "Bring me the JEW" - meaning a man named Maurice Krotenberg, who was an alderman in New York City and fought for the rights of blacks to live in Trump's buildings and won. That JEW was my maternal grandfather.

I know! I'm sad to say he died before I was born so I never knew him. But my mother was such a Daddy's girl I knew a lot about him and apparently was like him - super smart, loud, opinionated, sharp-witted, truth-to-power, ethical and loving.
