Both benefit from low population and both are not as idyllic as I thought. My first time in New Zealand was in Wellington. I went for a walk. Some kids were drinking beer under a pier. They were all Maori and they were not at all enthusiastic about their homeland.

Well AFAIK, New Zealand has been relatively at peace and neutral for world's most pressing issues in larger context. When I look at their sports and even work (whatever interactions I had), there is a certain calmness. The country, of course, is beautiful and culturally rich.
