It makes sense. Corporate design is meant typically to be strong, solid and lasting. Climate Change is none of those. These things need to be talked about sooner than later as messaging matters always!

So if that is agreed upon, how could we approach a person with their heads in the sand about Climate Change (and likely most science)? Interesting design challenge!

It’s an interesting dilemma. The article made me think about my own inclination to approach the visual presentation of data in a crisp, clear way - and potentially and somewhat ignorantly set it up to be ignored!

It made me wonder about other areas where we (designers) attempt to present data so it’s easier to digest... but struggle to convince the audience to act on that info in a meaningful way.

Example - I think the designer(s) behind this informative sheet have done a nice job at making the stats easier to comprehend. I would be happy if this were my work. communities.wa.gov.au/media/… But - are there nuanced forces resulting in a “meh” 🤷🏻‍♀️ “don’t care” response?
